A leak in an in ground water line, main drain, suction or pressure lines, a
vinyl liner or a structural crack in the wall of a pool will cause the water
to flow through and into the ground beyond. Water, leaking through any
rupture is slowly going to erode the sand and/or dirt and thus create a
washout or cavity which, with time, will continue to grow, sometimes to
quite enormous proportions. Although it is impossible to know the exact
size of the washout, an educated guess may be made dependent upon the
normal porosity of the soil, the length of time the pool has been leaking
and the amount of water loss in a 24-hour period.
TUB OF GOLD does it job using the simple theory of
displacement. Imagine a glass of water, and then fill that glass with sand.
You will soon have displaced the water and have a glass full of wet sand. In
this way TUB OF GOLD moves through the rupture, displacing the
watery muck, re-building the washout and stabilizing the surrounding earth.
As TUB OF GOLD fills and compacts back to the point of the
leak, it surrounds the rupture, leaving no way for the water to escape
